The body is designed to heal itself if it has what it needs.

Heather Larsen

My health journey began in 2012, after a series of stressful life events; my health had taken a massive turn for the worse. I was not sleeping, I had chronic fatigue, brain fog, severe anxiousness, weight gain, chronic joint and muscle pain, irregular periods, and I developed an extensive list of allergies. I knew I couldn’t continue down this road so I began researching ways to heal my body and mind naturally. After 3 years and lots of ups and downs, my body started to develop skin rashes, and my stress levels were at an all time high. I developed a chronic shoulder injury and I tore my calf muscle during a workout session. Despite all my efforts to heal, my stress was hijacking my health. In the summer of 2016, I was diagnosed with Leaky Gut syndrome. I sought out to heal myself with an integrative approach. I focused on dietary and lifestyle changes and I began to see progress in my body.

Due to my own health experiences, I developed a deep passion for helping others find health and wellness. I became a Certified Health Coach and a 200-hour RYT Yoga Instructor. With a degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa, a certification in health coaching, my 200 RYT yoga training and a certification in Barre, I have been able to combine my passion for health and wellness with my desire to help others reach optimal health. I believe that the body is made to heal itself when given the right tools for the job. I believe in a holistic, integrative approach to health and wellness. Many factors determine our health. We cannot simply exercise and eat our way to health.   Although these things are very important, we must also manage our stress and sleep along with the proper nutrition and supplementation to allow the body to heal. I am passionate about bringing wellness to individuals through my life experiences and the experiences of my clients.

I began my journey with NutritionWorks Holistic Health in March 2017 and have already seen improvement in my stress levels, as well as sleep patterns and the appearance of my skin. As soon as I came to NutritionWorks I knew I had found my new home. I am excited for the opportunity to partner with NutritionWorks as an independent contractor and look forward to helping others on their journey toward health.

In health and wellness,

I was very lethargic and would experience nausea during meals. I suffered from low moods, and my immune system was very weak. I was overwhelmed and easily stressed. I was sleeping poorly with anxious thoughts at night. I had poor eyesight with dry, itchy eyes. My ankle was constantly sore. Since seeing Lori, I have energy! Since beginning, I have no more nausea while eating. My low mood and anxious thoughts are almost nil and easy to cope with now. My eyesight has DRASTICALLY improved. No more dry eye or redness. Much better sleeping patterns. My ankle is not sore at all!
