The body is designed to heal itself if it has what it needs. 

Healing should not be seen only in terms of our physical body or the removal of symptoms.

Most of us have a drive to perfection or wholeness, not only of our physical body but of our mind or spirit too.  As we become more conscious and aware of ourselves not only as individuals, but also as part of the collective world around us, we realize that one of our greatest needs is healing. We are all wounded in some aspect of our inner beings or experience dis-ease within our lives.

Over the last several decades we’ve seen the rise of the personal growth movement emerge and flourish. I feel that healing and growth can actually be considered the same. Why not look at healing, not as an attempt to return to a previously known standard of health but as helping us move on to a new and positive level of health not previously experienced! 

Healing should definitely concern itself with the relief of distressing symptoms or experiences of pain. Yet if we remove a headache without addressing the stress which caused it, this could eventually lead to increased symptoms! Our symptoms are a message from the body.  They have their own language.  Even minor symptoms are a message and should never be ignored or masked.  Our inner being speaks through our emotions   When we neglect these emotions, it speaks through our bodies.  Feelings and emotions are not a head trip.  They are a body trip. What is your body telling you? 

We have been taught for so long not to cry, keep a stiff upper lip, don’t be sad, don’t be mad, etc.     and what do we do?  Keep it all inside?     Is it not okay to self -express our feelings?  It is okay!!!! What a beautiful release tears are…. letting go!  We have a lot of crying in our office, myself included.   It’s actually very beautiful.  To be able to self- express, to allow myself to be emotionally vulnerable, to have a client find their tears flowing outward and experience their own emotional release is powerful. Let’s not bury our feelings. Let’s acknowledge their value. Let’s appreciate our feelings, emotions, and symptoms as gifts. When we focus on listening to our body instead of fixing it, we are on the path to true healing.

I was very lethargic and would experience nausea during meals. I suffered from low moods, and my immune system was very weak. I was overwhelmed and easily stressed. I was sleeping poorly with anxious thoughts at night. I had poor eyesight with dry, itchy eyes. My ankle was constantly sore. Since seeing Lori, I have energy! Since beginning, I have no more nausea while eating. My low mood and anxious thoughts are almost nil and easy to cope with now. My eyesight has DRASTICALLY improved. No more dry eye or redness. Much better sleeping patterns. My ankle is not sore at all!
